CCASE is a program of NCSE working to enhance environmental and sustainability efforts at member schools and in their respective communities. CCASE:

  1. Advances interdisciplinary environmental and sustainability education and workforce training;
  2. Encourages collaboration between community colleges and other NCSE members;
  3. Develops participation of administrators, faculty, staff, and students in environmental and sustainability efforts on campus and in the surrounding community; and
  4. Creates public-private partnerships with members and interested stakeholders, including federal agencies.

CCASE is lead collaboratively by an Affiliate Council and NCSE. CCASE Leadership sets the goals and priorities of the program. Each member school designates a representative to serve on the Council. Representatives are the leading voice at their institutions for sustainability and environmental science. CCASE Affiliate Council representatives convene at two annual meetings in Washington, DC. Current co-chairs of the CCASE Affiliate Council are Chris Dyer, University of New Mexico-Gallup, and Stephen Summers, Seminole State College of Florida.
